Our June Parish Pilgrimage took us to the Wye Valley, to Tintern Abbey, via Monmouth for lunch. 'Brother Thomas' (local historian disguised as 13th century Cistercian monk) was guide for our visit
He took us all over the ruins and talked to us about the life and times of the Abbey in its heyday Katie brought her parents again. After standing a while we were glad to perch on a ruined wall
We saw the sculptor at work on a new statue of our Lady of Tintern. He dressed up too, later on
We sang Evensong at St Mary's in Usk, and had such a good time we forgot to take pictures !
