Our June Parish Pilgrimage took us to the Wye Valley, to Tintern Abbey, via Monmouth for lunch.
INtroducing Brother Thomas                   Learning about the Abbey
'Brother Thomas' (local historian disguised as 13th century Cistercian monk) was guide for our visit
View of pilgrims from on high                   Another quiet corner
He took us all over the ruins and talked to us about the life and times of the Abbey in its heyday
Katie brought her parents again                      Foot rest
Katie brought her parents again.  After standing a while we were glad to perch on a ruined wallSculptor at work                    Sculptor dresses as monk
We saw the sculptor at work on a new statue of our Lady of Tintern. He dressed up too, later on

We sang Evensong at St Mary's in Usk, and had such a good time we forgot to take pictures !

Remember last year's Pilgrimage to Orcop?
