MINISTRY IN THE PARISH

Vicar of St John's City Parish

The Revd. J. Keith Kimber

 Keith

Born in Ystrad Mynach in 1945, Fr. Keith is married to Clare. They have  four grown-up children, and two grandchildren. 
He studied Chemistry in Bristol University, then trained for ministry at St. Michael's Llandaff. He was ordained priest in the diocese of Llandaff in 1970, served his title in Caerphilly. 
He was Area Secretary for Wales for USPG in the '80s and has worked in the dioceses of Bristol, Birmingham, Worcester and Europe. 
He was inducted as Incumbent of the Parish on 30th October 2002.

Born in Oldham in 1977, Sister Wendy was commissioned on the 8th of July as a Church Army officer and was licensed on 25th September by the Archbishop for ground-breaking work in mission to Cardiff's thriving club culture. Working with a volunteer team, mostly at night in city clubs and bars, Wendy's task is to share the Gospel with clubbers where they are.
Working in partnership with Baptist youth pastor James Karran, a new venture called  'Pub Church' was launched at Clwb Ifor Bach in Womanby Street, Palm Sunday, 1st April 2007. For details of the programme see:-  www.solace-cardiff.org.uk

Cardiff University Anglican Chaplaincy house is in Park Place, in the midst of the University Campus in the Parish. Lorraine was appointed Anglican University Chaplain January 2004, coming from Cambridge, where she was chaplain to Fitzwilliam College and Curate in St Andrew's Parish, Chesterton. A Londoner, born in 1946 in Chelsea, she is an artist and writer, married to Shaun, a theatre director. They have two grown up daughters.
